Devilman Vol.2. The Demon Bird takes place a few years after the first OVA Volume, The Birth. Akira Fudou is now out of high school and a couple of years older. His best friend Ryou Asuka has recovered from his nearly fatal wounds.
Akira is lured into the demon, Jinmen's hideaway only to be emotionally tortured by him. Jinmen stuns Akira with the fact that he killed and ate his parents.
After tearing apart the demon Jinmen, Akira is ambushed at his temporary home where he lives with the family of his girlfriend, Miki Makimura.
Akira saves Miki from an attack by a demon made of water called Ghelmer. It isn't long till Akira's bird like demon antagonist, Sirene arrives to battle Devilman to the death.
The Review
Devilman Vol.2 OVA - The Demon Bird is much improved over its predecessor, The Birth. The character and story development has already been introduced to us in the first OVA volume. Devilman The Demon Bird gets right to the point with the action and horror starting right away.
Devilman Vol.2 OVA - The Demon Bird is much improved over its predecessor, The Birth. The character and story development has already been introduced to us in the first OVA volume. Devilman The Demon Bird gets right to the point with the action and horror starting right away.
The animation looks a lot better since this anime was released in 1990. The characters look more mature and don't have that 80's type cutesy anime design to them. Vol.2 has a much darker anime style to it.
Akira Fudou no longer looks like an innocent kid and now is buffed up and ready to kick ass. The animation although great for the time pales in comparison to today's.
I also like that the demons featured in Devilman Vol.2 OVA - The Demon Bird looks more horrific than in the first one. The turtle like amphibious demon, Jinmen is really creepy looking. His shell is covered with the faces of people he has eaten and now tortures their trapped souls.
The harpy looking Sirene looks really cool. She has a nude body of a woman covered with white bird feathers. Her head has an antenna and big wings. She also has huge bird feet with talons for hands/feet.
The fight scenes are even more intense as limbs are torn apart with blood and gore spraying all over the place. There is some brief character development for Akira's opponent, Sirene in the anime.
She has a grudge to settle with Akira/Devilman, because she hates any demon who joins with a human. She wants to make an example out of him by killing him.
Devilman's fight in the second half of the OVA with Sirene The Demon Bird is very intense, brutal, and entertaining. Devilman uses his flying ability in this one as he engages Sirene in battle in the skies.
They go back and forth in a slugfest as they both lose a lot of blood and some limbs. I'm not going to tell you the ending, but Devilman meets his match with the Sirene demon.
The hair metal music from the first one makes its return and some melancholy background music is added as well to this OVA.
The one thing I found disappointing with this follow up is that Ryou Asuka doesn't get much screen time. This is a fast paced action packed anime that you will not get bored watching.
A word of warning it is not for children since it has profanity, nudity, and lots of graphic violence.
Devilman is a cool anti-hero and the entertaining anime series and OVA's make the anime's he's featured in cult classics.

Affordable 2D Animation Softwares For Beginners
Digital animation can be expensive to start because of the cost of 2D animation softwares. There are a few choices to look at when we want to learn 2D animations.
To learn digital animation, you require both animation and software skills. As a beginner, we choose our animation software, we need to consider some factors that involve money & cents, and time.
As a newbie in animation, we want to invest our savings and time on worthwhile things. I'll give some recommendations to start your 2D animation journey at a more affordable cost and produce quality animation using relevant industry software.
- I recommended Adobe Flash for 2D animation software because of its drawing and animation tools available. Simple South Park characters can be created even if you have no drawing skills. You can start drawing with a mouse using Adobe Flash! Adobe Flash comes with preset motions to create animation and they can create some complex animation very easily.
Adobe Flash is definitely not free. However you can download Adobe Flash for a trial period of 30 days to test out the software before burning a hole in your pocket as it costs about USD$800+. Ask friends who has this software to let you play around with before making the investment. - Toon Boom Studio is another recommendation for learning 2D animation because you can create interesting animation such as Japan anime. This software creates good quality animation for TV series and short videos. Anime such as Naruto, Bleach, etc., are examples of the style you can create with Toon Boon.
Toon Boom also not free and it cost about USD$300+ onwards. However, they do allow you to download for a short trial period of 30 days. Kid's version of the software, Animation-ish, which cost USD$60 is worth a try as it gives you a good amount of basic tools to start learning animation. - You can also consider DigiCel Flipbook which is very much similar to Animation-ish but the prerequisite is your drawing skill. DigiCel Flipbook is easy to use and it compiles your drawings into an animation. Lip syncing animation can also be created with DigiCel Flipbook as it has voice synchronizing function. The basic version of this software is priced at USD$78 and it contains all the tools to sufficiently gear you up for your animation learning journey.
You can easily create 2D animation buttons and banners with these softwares. If you plan to be a cartoon animator, your drawing skill will be critical. This is when you will need to learn to draw digitally with a drawing table.
The cheapest tablet you can start with is Wacom's Bamboo Tablet. As a beginner, you will not feel that it is not sensitive until you become an expert in digital drawing. Bamboo Tablet is popular among students because it is sold at quite an affordable price of USD$100+. As you advance to be a veteran artist, you consider upgrading your tablet to Wacom Intuos 5 series. This tablet is also popular in the media industry because of the sensitivity when you draw.
Wacom tablets are compatible for both Mac and Windows platform and most drawing softwares. They are mainly plug and play with some configuration to suit your drawing needs.

Create Your Creative Career With Drama School
All those who feel like they are ready to take the next step in their acting career may do well enrolling in an acting school . Most of these schools offer courses in acting, production, playwriting and directing. For anyone hoping to get enrolled in one of the many schools offering drama classes, it is important to have an idea of what to expect and how to evaluate a school before entering.
For the majority of the schools that can be found around, entry is mostly by auditioning. Applicants are provided with at least two monologues one of which can be Shakespearean and the other contemporary. Given that there are many aspirants hoping to become tomorrow's most successful actor or actress, the number of applicants are high. However, for most of the schools, the number of successful candidates is low with most of them having at most two successful applicants out of one hundred who applied. That is to show that the schools are best on getting only the best right at the preliminary stage. This is quite understandable given that to be able to make a name; graduates from any one particular school should be well recognized in the acting industry. By getting only the best at the start, the different schools are actually planning for success.
Most drama classes will help prepare their students for the stage and the camera but when it comes to acting in big movies, a bit of extra classes becomes necessary. There are many differences when it comes to acting for theatre and acting for the big screens. Some of this differences may not be immediately obvious at first sight but there do exist. There are other techniques that acting for the big screen will necessitate and these can't be learnt all in drama class.
While in drama school, students will be thought all the techniques they'll need to use to become successful in the industry. To help prepare their students better, most of the course work is done through practical and theory is kept to a minimum. By the end of their course, students will feel like they are ready to become the next big thing in the acting industry. To help their students land great roles, most schools of drama will organize different performances throughout the final year.
These performances are attended by top film agents and casting directors that have been invited by the school authorities. The rationale is to be able to showcase the talents that the school is producing. While this helps to improve career opportunities for the future graduates, it also helps promote the credibility of the school.
For most aspiring students, it is important to read reviews on the best school for acting and who what the general feeling towards the school is in the industry. Thanks to the internet this is not hard to do and a student can read reviews from both past students and industry professionals who can help them make the right choice when it comes to choosing where to study.

Review of Bleach Anime
Having grown up in Japan, its amazing to me still that I did not immerse myself in the manga culture until I left the country. Bleach is what is considered a mainstream "shonen anime" along with Naruto which you probably already have heard of. From what I have heard - giving Bleach a try is the best decision I have made. If you want the short answer to what my review is, this show is a good one.
The plot of Bleach is pretty easy to grasp in the beginning. There are Soul Reapers who have the ability to guide souls to the Soul Society which is an afterlife dimension. Reapers not only guide human souls but combat evil spirits to protect everyone. On initial watch, you meet Ichigo the arrogant sarcastic teenage boy (typical character). The first season introduces us to the most important of characters, Rukia and allows us to understand the basic concept of Bleach as we know it. We don't realize until the end the new events that will cause us to go on rescue missions to defend the Soul Society.
Finally after the first 50+ episodes a climax takes place and makes the entire season worth watching. But, 50 episodes in - who has the attention span to watch this? Continuing on you are promised great rewards at the end of this brick road. Two arcs are a slow paced action anime which is the issue I've had with it. The Soul Society arc grabs your attention and asks you to be a loyal fan, until its interest plummets. While the Arrancar arc is interesting in new aspects, neither that or the Hueco Mundo arc do much for the senses. Like most cartoons these days, the plot doesn't thicken past the save the damsel in distress mode, and gets old. Many of the repeat fights don't have much oomph to them as we must see the same scenes over again.
Aside from the filler, the reusing of plots and damsel in distress Bleach did show an increasing in potential as we dive deeper into the series. The universe comes alive in new ways, and Bleach improves as it matures. The other seasons are not as good as season 1, and leaves your yearning for more. Oddly enough Bleach is still enjoyable to watch even having finished it already. The true excitement is that with every rerun you find something new about the show. You inspect powers of each character, what motivates the villain of each episode and the quirks of the characters. The true spark of this show is in fact the cast, the odd twists and behaviors keeps you coming back for more. Even when the animation fades in and out between low frames and odd character interaction, its still beautiful to watch.
What also sparks the imagination to Bleach's claim to fame is their Soundtrack. Each one brings new sound, and revives the old. The tone of each episode is followed closely and does not miss a beat in action and underlying electric tone.
I've said this over and over to friends who don't watch anime, watch this one first- give it a few episodes and you'll watch it to the end.

4 Main Types of Animations to Enjoy and Learn to Create
In the current creative industry, there are 4 main types and style of animation you can learn to create. Expose yourself to these 4 genres of animation so you can better understand and appreciate animations in different form.
1. Flip book animation is a very primitive way that creates animation purely with pencil, eraser and a stack of drawing pads such as Post-it pads. This style can be very experimental and creative as you can draw anything you can think of.
Pros: It is cheap and readily available at all stationery stores. You can make use of your existing drawing skill and you can start almost immediately. This method gets you to churn out the rough idea you have for animation very easily.
Cons: You have to be prepared to erase and redraw when you make mistakes because you do not have an undo button for this style. Adding in details such as color and shading can take up a lot of time because details have to be added on each page of your animation.
Industry: Seldom do creative house creates flip book animations mainly because it is not easy to create quality flip book animation. As flip book animation is a very old technique, it is not efficient to create one.
2. Stop motion animation makes use of the figurine and physical objects to create animation. You can start with using toys and figurine and capture them as photo images. Once photo taking is complete, you use a video editing software to compile these photos into a moving image video.
Pros: The visual of the animation will look relatively appealing if you are using toys because they look real life! All asset is physical and there is not much tools to learn other than pressing a button to capture the photo.
Cons: Posing the toys frame by frame might be tedious and not accurate if the toys are not placed correctly compared to the previous frame. Toys posing to fly or jump can be tough too, so you need to be a little more creative in execution when it comes to creating stop motion animation.
Industry: Occasionally we see movies created using stop motion animation. Corpse Bride is an example of stop motion movie. This is not a popular style of animation because of the cost and human resources to create frame by frame animation.
3. 2D animation is a digital method of flip book animation where visuals are created by drawing in a software. Drawing skills are preferably required but there are a lot more convenient tools within the software help you draw faster. Animation eventually will look much smoother because you can adjust the timing of your animation easily.
Pros: Animation can be created efficiently because you can back up your work. Using 2d software, your animation can look much more polished because you can add in more details and visual effects.
Cons: You will need to be proficient in using computers and invest in buying a computer and the software. The learning curve can get steeper with 2d softwares when it comes to using the right tool to achieve the appropriate result because sometimes there are just too many tools available for you.
Industry: 2D animation is very popular in the creative industry because it has its target audience. Anime and recent cartoon series on TV are very good example of 2d animations. Some web games are also created using this style as it can be integrated into web applications and games. 2d animators are versatile because they can apply their animation on many platforms from multimedia to broadcast video.
4. 3D animation creates animation using virtual space and has potential to create realistic and aesthetically stunning visual. 3D software is able to do so because of its calculation which can render images as realistic as real life images. This is why many blockbuster movies such as Batman and Transformers make use of 3d software technologies to bring fiction stories to life.
Pros: Final artwork can be very realistic and real. 3D software makes this possible because of the amount of tools made available for the artist to use. Tools such as lighting, bone structure, rendering calculation are some examples of power tools to create animation.
Cons: With so many tools made available to the artist, the learning curve to understand 3d software can be tough if you try to learn it yourself. It is highly recommended to learn 3d software by guidance or taking up a course to speed up the learning process. 3D softwares are also expensive to start with. As a student with no income, it can be quite a tough decision to make on top of the handful of software to choose from.
Industry: 3D animation is just as popular as 2d animation because of its realistic appeal. Although the 3d animation is not efficient for small projects, it is can be very efficient for big movie or game projects.
Before deciding on which style of animation you wish to learn and create, take some time to explore and discover which is in your best interest.

Lois who now knows Superman's identity as Clark Kent wants to make their relationship public. A roundish shape metallic object shows up in the sky and is heading towards Metropolis. Superman intercepts it and activates its transmitter, after defeating the robot within it. He takes the disabled robot back to his Fortress of Solitude. Supergirl tells him that the robot is one of Brainiac's drone soldiers.
Brainiac used his robot army and his skull ship to invade Kandor (Capital of Krypton). The robots killed some of the citizens of Kandor and also downloaded their knowledge. She tells Superman that her parents and the rest of the remaining Kandorians were taken prisoner by Brainiac. Supergirl was sent to earth, while Kandor was miniaturized by the large skull ship. After an argument with Lois, Superman learns of Brainiacs origins. The being, Brainiac is a former Coluan scientist who augmented himself with cybernetic and genetic enhancements.
Brainiac travels the universe, miniaturizing worlds he invades, and uploads the knowledge of the living people he captures. The planets are not destroyed, he just keeps them in his skull ship. Superman is captured by Brainiac when he tracks him down to a planet that is being invaded much in the same way as Kandor. Superman fights off the robotic mechanisms within Brainiac's ship. He enters a room and is shocked to see a bunch of bottled planets prior to their invasion by Brainiac. Brainiac tells Superman that he has been scanning information about all the planets and of the people. He uploads the information before destroying them.
Brainiac also reveals to Superman that he knew Krypton would eventually be explode and that's why he spared his home world. Earth's location is revealed to Brainiac by Superman's birth rocket guidance system. Brainiac tells Superman his next target is earth before teleporting him away to Kandor. Superman's powers are significantly reduced while on Kandor because of its red sun. He spends some time with his uncle and aunt, Zor-El and Alura. Superman creates an aversion to attract the attention of the drone robots. He defeats the two that appear and uses their teleportation ability to return to the skull ship.
Brainiac is seemingly defeated by the rejuvenated Man of Steel. Superman now has in his hands the shrunken city of Kandor and flies back to earth using the birth rocket. Lois is informed by Supergirl of all what has transpired and alerts the Pentagon of a possible invasion by Brainiac. Elsewhere, Brainiac reawakens, repairs his ship, and heads to earth. He defeats the heroic efforts of earth's forces and encases the planet within his ship. Superman and Supergirl are captured by Brainiac. The legendary Kal-El eventually breaks free from the clutches of Brainiac and an epic battle between them ensues.
Superman Unbound: The Review
Superman Unbound at 75 minutes long is a well put together animated movie. It is well written and will keep you interested. The voice acting and story is top notch. The pace is fast and filled with a lot of action. Superman/Clark Kent is decently voiced by Matt Bomer. I do prefer Tim Daly though. He just sounds more convincing as the heroic Man of Steel. Stana Katic does a great job as Lois Lane. She is very much like the, "stop right there buster", that Margot Kidder brought to the Lois Lane character.

Since Supergirl/Kara Zor-El is a teenager she naturally is whiny and a bit of a brat. Molly Quinn does a good job at making her annoying. I am not familiar with this version of Supergirl since I rarely read recent comics to keep up with the new characters. The only version of Supergirl in the comics I remember wasn't even Kryptonian. She was a shape shifting protoplasmic life-form called "Matrix". Brainiac had the best voice in Superman Unbound. John Noble from The Lord of the Rings and the science fiction themed TV Show, Fringe comes off as cold and menacing as Brainiac. He does a perfect job as the very evil, Brainiac.
I usually enjoy the DC Comics Universe animated movies and Superman Unbound does not disappoint. Out of all the ones I have seen, Superman/Doomsday is the only one that let me down. That one didn't turn out good and seemed rushed. The animation and character designs in Superman Unbound have a lot of detail and they are very vibrant. The animation quality can be considered hit or miss, because at times the characters look too skinny. The design for Superman might come across as being somewhat odd looking to some. He appears to disproportionate throughout some scenes in Superman Unbound.
At times his arms are way too skinny for a guy who has a huge muscular chest. The way his face is drawn makes him look like actor Nicolas Cage. I find that kind of funny considering Nicolas Cage was scheduled to be Superman in the canceled 1998 Superman Lives movie. The movie's script was somewhat based on the Death and Return of Superman storyline. Ironically, Brainiac was the main villain in it. He unleashes Doomsday on earth to kill Superman after he blocked out the sun to weaken him. Jimmy Olsen is drawn to look no older than 13 in Superman Unbound which is also odd. This animation style seen in Superman Unbound somewhat reminds me of Aeon Flux.
Brainiac puts up a good fight in Superman Unbound. Just like in the comics he is a formidable villain. The fight scenes are brutal and not too short. There is also some blood in Superman Unbound since a weakened Man of Steel is seen bleeding in two scenes. Some might be disappointed by the fact that Lois Lane doesn't have a big role in the animated feature. There's hardly any romance between her and Clark Kent. Superman Unbound has a well written plot and the whole movie is entertaining. Superman Unbound is based on the 2008 storyline Superman: Brainiac, which would eventually lead to the New Krypton story arc. I did not read those storylines so I am not familiar with them.

Brief Insight of Computer Animation
Computer animation has turned out to be one of the biggest and most lucrative industries today. Since past few years, the technology of computer animation is getting simpler day by day; at the same time, window of opportunities for talented computer animators is also increasing at a radical pace. Let us have a brief insight at this computer animation.
Technique
Traditionally, in the absence of computer technology, animations were done manually. The most widely used method was making a series of drawings, which were later blended into a film. Another method popularly adopted was by using physical objects or models. Using this method objects or models were placed at a certain place, and images were captured. The objects or models were then moved, and again a set of images were captured, and this process kept on recurring.
Eventually, with the advent of technology, traditional ways were replaced by computer animation. Computer animation or CG animation is the method of creating moving images with the help of computers. Using computers both 2D as well as 3D animation can be created. CG animation is also sometimes referred to as CGI (computer-generated imagery) animation. Images are created on the computer and then are manipulated using various sophisticated CGI software packages. Photorealistic animation involves motion capture, which is a process of recording the movement of people or objects.
CGI Software Packages
Computer animation entirely depends on the use of various CGI software packages. Maya, Cinema 4D, 3ds Max, Softimage, V-Ray, Mental Ray, and Z-Brush are some of the examples of CGI software packages. There are plenty of CGI software package options available, although, prices varies according to the functionality of the program.
Using these high-tech CGI software packages, computer animators can create amazing animations. Although, the key reason of amazing computer generated imagery lies with creative vision of the animators.
These days, computer generated animation has a diverse and extensive use ranging from the field of movies, video games, televisions, advertisements, web designs, and even education and research. Since it has a wide range of application, computer generated imagery has seen a steep upward surge over a past few years or so.
People all over the world, especially the young ones, are simply mesmerized by the hyper-real graphics and sound effects that have been introduced in movies, television programs, as well as in commercial adverts. The use of multimedia aspects makes the presentation more alluring as well as effective.

Planes - And How to Clean Them
Indeed, I was having an interesting conversation the other day, when I heard the new president of the EAA give a talk at the Oshkosh Air Ventures show. He said he was so excited that Disney was doing a show called "Planes" which would be similar to the animated Disney movie "Cars" and when asked why, he simply stated that this is a great way to keep general aviation alive in the future, and a great way to meet young kids and introduce them to aviation, as they will remember that movie just like my generation remembered Tom Cruise in Top Gun.
Why do I care? Well, I started cleaning aircraft at age 12 and I loved to watch planes fly around and we didn't have anything like Top Gun or Planes in the movies, I was inspired in real life having a dad who was a Navy jet pilot. Imagine if I'd been able to see an animated cartoon or series of them back in my days as a little kid? Although, I have yet to see the movie, the trailer on YouTube looks grand and really something, and if it is done anything like Cars, then it will be a big hit indeed.
Now, as I understand in this 3-D movie there is ground equipment that talks too. The cars talk, the aircraft are alive, which isn't so far-fetched considering our recent advances in artificial intelligence, military UAVs and drones, or the future of the Google Car, which will probably be bought by the USPS to deliver your mail someday. But let's not forget every car and aircraft needs washing, and therefore we need some decent representation from aircraft washers, if not in this first movie then definitely in the sequel. Okay so, how does one clean an aircraft?
Well, the simple answer is; very carefully, but the long answer involved aircraft cleaning and washing manuals, training, and attention to detail. Aircraft cannot drive-through car washes like cars, well they can, but that is not how robotic aircraft cleaning equipment actually works in the real world.
Why? Because aircraft come in different sizes and shapes and it wouldn't be a one-size fits all. So, the animators will have to work on all this won't they? For the next movie that is. I certainly have to hand it to Disney for their marketing brilliance and choice to produce this awesome movie, and I, like you, just can't wait to see it. Please consider all this and think on it.

Brief Insight of Computer Animation
Computer animation has turned out to be one of the biggest and
most lucrative industries today. Since past few years, the technology of
computer animation is getting simpler day by day; at the same time,
window of opportunities for talented computer animators is also
increasing at a radical pace. Let us have a brief insight at this
computer animation.

Planes - And How to Clean Them
Indeed, I was having an interesting conversation the other day,
when I heard the new president of the EAA give a talk at the Oshkosh Air
Ventures show. He said he was so excited that Disney was doing a show
called "Planes" which would be similar to the animated Disney movie
"Cars" and when asked why, he simply stated that this is a great way to
keep general aviation alive in the future, and a great way to meet young
kids and introduce them to aviation, as they will remember that movie
just like my generation remembered Tom Cruise in Top Gun.
